As the summer draws to a close, Truls Mørk enters the studio where he will record the Brahms Double Concerto
with Vadim Repin and Leipzig Gewandhaus under the baton of Riccardo Chailly for Deutsche Grammophon. To mark the
end of the recording, and the orchestra's season opening, the duo join the Leipzig Gewandhaus with the same concerto
in an Open-Air concert at Augustusplatz on 6 September 2008. This is followed by further performances of the Brahms
with l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande with James Ehnes and Marek Janowski in September, and with l'Orchestre
Philharmonique de Monte Carlo with Renaud Capuçon and Lawrence Foster in October.
In preparation for his next recording featuring the A minor, A major & B flat major concerti by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach for Virgin Classics, Truls Mørk travels to Edinburgh where he performs all the concerti with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra under Eivind Aadland. He then takes the repertoire to Quebec and Montréal for performances with Les Violons du Roy with whom he will collaborate for the CPE Bach recording.
Other highlights this autumn include the world premiere of Lasse Thoresen's cello concerto with Oslo Philharmonic under Jukka-Pekka Saraste in November, and a performance of his celebrated interpretation of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the baton of David Zinman in December 2008.
